It's bright red and yes I got myself one. I love it and it's just big enough for my CITA 110 text a coupke note books and a folder.... Plus it says Emerson Drive on it and has a guitar on it....

Did I mention I love pointless accessories? Bags, shoes (somehow I don't think they're going to be any with Emerson Drive logos anytime soon)... I now have an Emerson Drive Physical ED touch football tank top, an autographed t-shirt (i didn't have any paper with me), a baseball cap and now a bag... Which is going to go every where with me until it wears out....

Earlier this week Emerson Drive's former bass player, Patrick Bourque, died in his home in Canada.
I don't know how he died, I guess nobody knows yet.

Last week aparently the boys were at 10. I didn't listen to the countdown. Bad fan. Bad. Must listen to countdown. It's just that one starts real early on my morning off work, when I am most likely still asleep and during the other I'm at work.

Last year for graduation my parents got me tickets to the first E-Drive concert with in driving distance in years... Concert cancelled, Brad Mates was sick.
I gave up, I simply wasn't ever going to see them in concert, at that point I wasn't even sure they would be around for another year...
So last night when my big brother called to tell me I just HAD to get on our country Fair's website 'cause there was something I needed to see on there all I could think was A) it's March why were you on that site Fair isn't til August... B) I really don't care about cows so Fonda has basically no appeal for me... C) I'm talking to you and we have dial up I can't get on the Net til we hang up tell me already, the suspense is killing me almost.... So of course I feel bad 'cause I just really don't care show season just means more work for me and if Scott, much as I love him, is excited by something chances are I won't get the point in it. He just keeps telling me there's something that I'm going to be excited by on that website... Sorry, school bus demolition derbies do very little for me. I'm more um civilized. (OK I'm going to see that too, rub it in)
Finally he says a band I like is going to be there. I, of course, think of my boys. But come on what are the chances that Emerson Drive will do a concert within walking distance of my house?
Oh yep, my guys are playing at Fonda. I'm still jumping up and down and grinning. 8th grade. That's how long I've been trying to see them in concert. Maybe this August is the time... i sure hope so.
On the other hand... Yet another sib to thank. Last summer Lizzy (elder sister) wrote to them to tell them how crushed I was to hear the concert had been canceled. Not really as second child you get used to being disappointed, it's basically an every day occurrence. Mom was more upset than I was. Not really sure if it's cause she likes 'em too or because I ended up getting a watch for graduation.
So anyway she tells them that our local fair is the perfect place for them to do a show. Now suddenly they're doing one, (as long as nobody dies or gets sick or any number of other problems) coincidence we think not. So a BIG thanks to Lizzy.
One question, last year Liz found out first, this time Scott, how is it my sib's know these things before I do? I'm always online checking on my guys. Why am I always the last to know?
Any way I'm cutting all my college classes on August 31, 2007 to go to an Emerson Drive concert, as long as nothing goes wrong..... (MY FINGERS ARE CROSSED!!!)
Thanks again Scott, without the phone call I probably never would have found out... At least not til August... Now I just gotta get there.

For years I have been trying to see these guys in concert...
Last year as a graduation gift my parents with the help of my older sister got me tickets to a show a week before my graduation from high school...
Brad Mates got sick of the two concerts cancelled, the one I had tickets to just had to be one.
This year, the only concert they're doing in New York (as posted online so far) is at.... Alfred State University... Which my sister could have gone to but noooo she had to come to Cobleskill, which is less than a dot on the map but....
What did I do wrong in my past life to deserve this torment? They are so close and yet so far.....

Dale joined the band after original keyboarder Chris something or other quit, I think he got married dunnu seeing as how I never really cared what he was doing as long as they were releasing new music.

Guy Number Four: Patrick Bourque

Okay 'nother Frenchie. I really like this guy, he's an amazing bass player. Well that and their first bass player annoyed the heck out of me.

Guy Number Three~ Mike Melancon

Mike was born in Montreal in 1978. 5' 10" tall.
He joined in the late nineties and at the time didn't speak any English. Yikes!

Guy Number Two: Danick Dupelle

I'm trying to do this in the order the guys joined the band, eventually I'll put in previous members, any way Danick was added to the group sometime in the nineties, given time and a better computer I could probably find out exactly when. He started playing guitar at a very young age and originally played in his parents band. When he was asked to join Emerson Drive (then 12- Guage), he was playing with a band called Farmer's Daughter.

He was born in Montreal in 1973, and is an only child not to mention the fact that he's only 5' 61/2 " tall. Any thing else you want to know you'll have to look someplace else.

Guy Number One: Brad Mates

Okay, Brad started the band with a group of friends in high school. Originally there were more than six members, but as time went by people left the group. Those who remained decided against replacing all the people and only allowed enough people to keep six people in the band at all times.
Brad was born in Alberta, Canada, in 1978. I could tell you lots more but I'll just stick a link in here to every thing you could ever want to know.

The band is made up of six Canadian guys including Brad Mates (of the very first step to e-drive started in high school), Danick Dupelle, Mike Melancon, Patrick Bourque, David Pichette, and Dale Wallace. Most of the band speaks at least a little French, for some it's their first language.

Okay first off I've been totally addicted to these guys since I heard I Should Be Sleepin' when doing math homework the day it came out. They've done really well for a band from Canada with very little backing from their original record label achieving things like American music awards major Canadian awards and top ten hits. The six man band lost their record lable and are now signed with Midas Records Nashville.
